Man Spends Thousands On Modular Synth Set Up, Then Records Audio Using Only Phone Microphone

Tom Beardstroke is a modular synthesizer enthusiast. Throughout his forty year life, he has forgone spending his money on going out, buying a house or car, or anything but modular synth pieces to slot into his Eurorack set up. His current loadout is worth more than Ireland. After a lifetime of denial of other pleasures, and with his wall of dials and sliders pretty much complete and realised, he has decided to take the next step and finally record some music. After careful consideration, he decided to go for the maverick move of recording it all on his iPhone 6S using the phones microphone.

Tom explains, "This is the ultimate lofi approach, that no major label artist has even considered doing yet. Does Deadmau5 use phone audio? Does Daft Punk? No, nobody has ever thought about the pure digital crunch you get from recording on a phone".

Tom then went and turned up his latest Youtube recording, uploaded that morning. "Hear the bass on that? Me neither! No one will be expecting that. This is going to be like when Black Metal made recording on tapes with a pair of headphones plugged into the mic socket cool".

His Youtube channel currently has 10 subscribers, all of which have told him to please, record using line in instead. "They just don't get it" says Tom, "I bet one day they will be posers saying 'I was there' about the great phone audio era".
